Core Values

Our mission is to build a life-giving local church that will impact our city and the regions beyond as we help people meet Jesus, grow in their faith, and develop into who God created them to be! In order to fulfill that mission, we have five simple Core Values we call the 5"Gs" that encapsulate our mission.

We value gathering on weekly on Sundays to experience God together. We aim to make Jesus famous and give people the opportunity to meet with Him every time we gather. We are one church, in two locations for weekly gatherings.

On the day of Pentecost, all the believers were meeting together in one place. -Acts 2:1 (NLT)

We must also consider how to encourage each other to show love and to do good things. We should not stop gathering together with other believers, as some of you are doing. Instead, we must continue to encourage each other even more as we see the day of the Lord coming. -Hebrews 10:24-25 (GW)

We value the principle of doing life together through groups, where we are committed to one another in love, and where in this community we will see people meet Jesus, grow in their faith, and be released to lead in the capacity to which God has gifted them. We have a plethora of groups – every season of life, many common interests, and a variety of different needs – that will help you find the perfect place to connect with other awesome people like you!

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts.  They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts. -Acts 2:46 (NLT)

We value all generations and aim to show Jesus in relevant ways to future generations. We are committed to building a generation pipeline where children from a young age come to know God and walk with Him all the days of their lives!

Because of this value, there are many ministries at The City Church devoted to the next generation.

Now David had served God’s purpose in his own generation. -Acts
13:26 (NIV)

We value a generous lifestyle at The City Church and want to experience God in the marketplace. God is the ultimate Giver and because He gives to us, it is our natural response to give back to Him and to give to others. We walk in generosity through giving tithes and offerings to the local church, as well as meeting needs in our community and world through gifts of time and money, community service, and missions endeavors. We have made it easy and safe to give online to support this local church.

And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. -Acts 2:44-45 (NLT)

All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all. There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need. -Acts 4:32-34 (NLT)

We value the process of growth in the life of a person. We want to always be growing in our knowledge of Jesus and His design for our lives. Here are a few ways we can grow at The City Church:

  • Attend Grow Classes
  • Join a Team
  • Join a Group

  • I am now entrusting you to God and to his message that tells how kind he is. That message can help you grow and can give you the inheritance that is shared by all of God’s holy people. -Acts 20:32 (GW)

You must grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. -2 Peter 3:18 (NLT)
